It's been so long

Anyways, it's been so long since I've been regularly keeping up with posting here ... well, that I forget whether I have helped pass on the cause of Jenkees mania here or not.

So, in the interest of continuing the "U-Toobs" sensation, I noticed that Ronald J. has updated his vids here, so witness the awesome power of creativity coming forth from what may seem to anyone like an unlikely source -- oh by the way, I'm not joking. This guy can really string together some awesome keyboard riffs over beats. Oh, and that isn't even his best one

Check it out the other ones here ... and here ... what the hell, here and go check out his website after. Why do I feel like I have to say I'm not joking again .... go check it out

Three Years In

It just hit me that this blog has now been up for three years ... I suppose the greater irony is that it nearly parallels the length of the Iraqi invasion

As so many things have happened in the past three years, I have this to say -- much of it inspired by frantic thoughts that eventually I should make some real money ... and then being brought down to earth only moments later by the weekly editorial by the bearded one in PBN

Answers to St. Anger Issues

By Bob Rock, courtesy MTV.com

Rock on Anger

Covers solos, sound quality, and basically everything else the fans and listeners have questioned or commented on about St. Anger

If nothing else, somewhat enlightening

It Finally Happened

Maybe it's a bit ironic that it would happen on Memorial Day
It is definitely not a serious as the subject why we commemorate this holiday

My original cassette of Metallica - Ride The Lightning is officially DEAD
After about 19 years, and God knows how many plays ... probably close to a few thousand, it died today

It is close to totally demagnetized, the case is about as beat up as all get out, I'm gonna keep it just because ... but it can't play real good anymore ... it sounds underwater and soft

The thing is, I can't find my CD of Ride the Lightning ... hmmm, sounds like a Circuit City trip to me unless I find my CD quick

Yes, not a major crisis, but this tape basically accompanied me on most of my bustrips to and from high school everyday ... so it's mostly the sentimental value that really makes this a bit of a sad moment for me

Is it Cruel?

Well it's definitely unusual

I read on Blabbermouth.net this morning that the US Military uses heavy metal and children's singalong music to gain cooperation of Iraqi military interogatees

Apparently, the military uses extended sessions of Metallica's Enter Sandman; the Drowning Pool's Bodies; Sesame Street and Barney singalong songs to break down the resistance of interogatees

It was said that the concept behind this is to break a subject's resistance by annoying that person with what some Iraqis would consider culturally offensive music ... I guess the point is that most of the captives have never heard such music before and it drives them nuts

Now my question is, does this violate the international convention against torture?

Off I go to the gym, Black album is the choice of driving music

The Wait

Ok, so we're not getting MTV live today ... nice to know

But it's still a little less than 3 hours away from Pacific Daylight feed

Courtesy Metallica.com, the LUAU brings you ... THE COMMERCIALS
(ed.note: or at least a link to them ... Yeah... hahahahaha)

You're gonna need Real or WMP ... not my preferred means of watching something on the Net ... but what can you do, right? ... it's cool and a good use/waste of 9 mins and 15 secs of your time (You Pick)

(ed.note; ok, now its 6PM ... no ICON ... see what I mean, about the TV listings for MTV here in Hawaii ... Its a wonder anyone watches what they want to on that channel with any sense of regularity or MAKING SENSE OF when their show is on)

Watch Something Educational

Ok, I've had it up to here with 24 hour Target: Iraq coverage ...I just don't believe the building of a megasized discount retailer in the middle of a major metropolitan city (like Honolulu is, for example) can be even remotely newsworthy or controversial

A Post, Finally!

Okay, so I've been away for the past three days, but hard at work at figuring out how I want the blog to look like --- It's not quite finished but it's slightly better looking ... and with 800% more organization (Chee-HOO!) and not a DAMN bit more content
