Where I'd Been
Well, it's been a while between actual journal entries ... let's just say I was doing terribly grownup things that were work-related and now that they are reasonably under control again ... yeah, I actually feel like writing something
A bit of good news this morning as I saw that Morning Becomes Eclectic has joined the other KCRW podcasts on the iTs ... if you haven't checked out the KCRW site before, this is a public radio show from LA, that usually features great interviews and live performances from up and coming bands ... honestly, it's a real new music lovers' delight
Don't say we were never wrong ... as a correction to an earlier post related to the latest, greatest, well most recent reality musical talent show on the Columbia Broadcasting System to find the new lead singer for (phonetically) in-excess -- we have found out that most of the contestants are actually in their 30s, I suppose the delicious irony is that the most talented mix of charisma, vocal talent, and performance is an early 20s woman
In another news story that should outrage the ultimately indifferent populace of this land (DOUBT THAT SINCERELY), I read this story this morning that our military was testing this "death ray" concept to use for crowd control in Iraq-- it is NOT a death ray per se, rather it shoots concentrated microwave pulses at people that makes their skin .... well, COOK and become uncomfortable (i.e., BURNT)... and when they tested it here, they would tell people not to keep coins or metal in their pockets or to wear eye glasses or contacts because it would promote well ... burns -- I just have to shake my head at some of the things our military comes up with to use against non-combatants ... aka CIVILIANS, people like you and me, except more brown, more Arab, and more Muslim
Unbelievably lame.
