Where Are We?
Okay, so today SD and I set off on a voyage to the ninth island
Where is the ninth island, you ask ... well wonder no more
I think this is a pretty good clue, no?

Wednesday: enroute to LV
Well, maybe three weeks ago, SD and I decided to finalize where we going on vacation this summer. Ironically, we decided on LV ... I say ironic because it's so cliche that people from the lower 50th, decide to go to the hotel named after the 31st in the middle of the hostile desert climate
Well, we planned a lot of stuff, and I suppose a few days ago, I thought that it might be really too much ... well, we shall see
My first praise goes to my handy dandy Panasonic LS 55 DVD player, the battery life is just wayyy the hell off the chart at close to 10 hours a charge ... and the picture is fairly amazing for an affordable portable ... that helped distract from the slave trader-like quarters of the charter flight
I'm not even going to mention how bad the charter service is that the VH company uses, I've ranted about it before ... let's just say your choices are either cramped up against the window, in between two plate lunch eating humans, or on the aisle where you will be bumped at least 100+times on your outside arm, guaranteed
Live from Viva LV: Wednite
We actually got there in the early evening, so early that we decided to wander around the downtown area. Our first stop was Neonopolis -- there is something to be said about shill journalism. We had read in the LVRJ newspaper that this was one of Vegas' best places (... perhaps we should have read the 2003 ... apparently things have a shelf life of 18mos. to 2 years here, soooo, lesson learned)

It is supposed to be a mall concept very very similar to the Ward Ent Complex here, well, someone should notice that the place is over 50% vacant LOL
We did get to go in Kentucky style D&B, Jillians ... one of the cooler aspects of it is that it has cosmic bowling with huge TV screens, lounge cushy seating in the bowling area, pretty fab looking bowling alley .... the rest is standard big videogames, game area, etc.
As we walked down the FreSt. Expx, one thing was very noticeable to me ... it's damn hot even at 8 at night in LV .... I guess besides that, it is very crowded and the street experience is like all these little kiosks, tons of people from all over, lots of drunk sweaty people, and of course, more than a truckful of homeless pan handlers.
This shouldn't be a unique point, but with the corporatization of all radio, there was a night promotion being held by LV 1027, ironically they have the same promo line as our 931, and same format ... yeah yeah, 80s and more, that one -- well all we hear is radiooo googoo radiooo gaga
Well, we looked up and down FreSt., afterwards we went over to MainSt to have beers and nachos at the Triple 7 -- we each had a 5-beer sampler and the most massive plate of chkn nachos ever created ... this is fabulousville, after all

And so, eight beer cups later for me ... why gfs decide to order too much will always and forever baffle me, and two plus one for SD, we went back to the hotel to las neh-neh time
