After games like yesterday given the way this season has gone, I always wonder if the total game can carry over to the next game

BOT 1: Redman going for the Bucs -- Jeter battles then bloops a leadoff single to right -- Bernie grounds to short into a 643 double play, two down -- Sheffield goes the opposite way with a two out single to right -- ARod grounds to short, the force is made at second to end the inning

TOP 2: Doumit down on a checkswing, ball dropped, he is tagged, one down -- Ward chops to first, two away -- Castillo flies to right to retire the side

BOT 2: Posada hits a leadoff, opposite field solo shot to right, Yankees 1-0

Matsui is down looking, one gone -- Sierra goes down swinging, and loses the bat ... thrown all the way up to the third base bag, two down -- Giambi lines a two out single up the middle -- full count to Cano, the payoff ... is flared to short right center, Castillo runs, dives, trying to make the over the shoulder grab ... it falls in for a single, runners now at the corners

Jeter hits the first pitch up the middle, it's knocked down by Redman, he puts out Jeter to end the rally

TOP 3: Wilson hits a sharp grounder at third, ARod dives, gloves and makes the play over to first, one gone -- Ross goes down swinging, two away -- Lawton hits the first pitch and flies out to left to retire the side

BOT 3: Bernie hits a broken bat bloop to deep short, one away -- Sheffield hits a comebacker off Redman's glove, it kicks to Castillo, he puts Sheffield out, two down -- ARod lines out to left to end the inning

TOP 4: Sanchez grounds to third, tough hop by ARod and into left, a leadoff single -- Bay goes down swinging, one down -- Mackowiak lines an opposite field single to left, runners now first and second

Doumit rips a single the opposite way to left, one run scores, the game is tied 1-1

Runners now first and second, one down for Ward, he hits the first pitch up the middle and into center, another run scores, Pirates with their first lead 2-1

Full count to Castillo, he flies out to right, the lead runner tags and goes to third, runners at the corners, two away

Wilson goes down swinging, the ball is dropped, he is tagged to end the rally

TOP 7: Sturtze in for Yankees -- Wilson jacks the first pitch to left ... and it's deja Sunday all over again, Pirates 4-1

Ross flies to center, one down -- Lawton hits a comebacker at the pitcher, Sturtze reaches, gloves and puts him out, two away -- Sanchez grounds to third to end the rally

Giambi pops up to right, it's more of an adventure than it should have been but Lawton gloves it, two down -- Cano hits a chopper up the middle, the pitcher jumps, it bounces off his glove, slows down, the second baseman gloves, no chance at first, one run scores, Pirates now 4-2

Jeter hits a sharp grounder to deep third on the line, the throw is first is off and gets away from Ward ... Jeter into second on the play, Cano only to third because he was watching the play unfold at second

Two down, two runners in scoring position, Bernie draws a walk to load the bases -- that will be all for Redman, White is in to pitch for the Bucs

Sheffield grounds to third, the force is made at second to end the rally

TOP 8: Bay first pitch swinging, bombs a solo shot to center, Pirates 5-2

Mackowiak grounds to third, one down -- Doumit grounds to second, two away -- Ward flies to center to end the rally

BOT 8: ARod lines a leadoff single to center -- Posada taps one out front of the plate, the catcher gloves and throws him out at first, runner to second, one down -- White is taken out, Gonzalez now pitching for PIT

Runner at second, one down for Matsui, he fists a bloop single to center, one run scores, the Pirates now lead 5-3

Phillips in to PR for Matsui -- the 0-2 to Sierra is a WP that bounces in front of the plate and over the catcher to the backstop, runner to second -- Sierra lines smash to the left field corner, one run scores, Sierra in with a double, the score is now 5-4

Womack in to PR for Sierra at second, Williams out to confer. Mesa warms for PIT -- Giambi goes down swinging, two away -- Cano grounds to second to end the rally

TOP 9: Womack in LF, Mo getting work tonight, even though the Yankees are down -- Castillo down swinging, one down -- Wilson grounds to second, two away -- and now monkey business, there is a delay as someone runs out onto the field
